To celebrate the launch of our new brand and to celebrate 15 years, it felt right that we invite people who have made it possible for us to get to the point we are at today. Clients and collaborators came down to our offices at the Exchange for an evening of networking, activities and celebrations.

A recap of the event

We started off the evening with science and fusion themed mocktails fittingly named ‘Periodic Potion’ & ‘Molecular Mojito’. And while people were showing up it gave guests the perfect time to also do some networking with other local businesses. The time came for our director, Malcolm to announce our new identity officially for the first time. Within this time we explained our reasoning for why we have had an identity change, we also explained how this impacts you as clients and how we approach working on your web and design jobs.

Throughout the office there were science themed activities which brought together our vision of: Birthday party meets science fair. We had arranged a photo booth with science related props where guests could dress up as mad scientists and have something to take home from the night to remind them of both the night and Oxygen Elements. To get people’s creative minds going we set guests a challenge to create a lego duck out of 6 lego pieces (there are 19,000,000 different ways you can align these 6 bricks). The competitive nature of people wanting to make totally unique ducks being built which progressively got more and more abstract as the night went on. It serves as a good reminder that people approach jobs in different ways and that in the design world there is no one correct way to meet a brief.

The star of the night was the periodic table board. We had cut out each element in the periodic table and tasked guests with creating the longest word only using periodic table elements. People quickly realised it’s harder than it looks. The longest word you can create is 23 letters and the longest anyone on the night managed to get was 14 with ‘Hypercoagulism’ (We aren’t 100% sure that is a word however). However challenging it was, people flocked to the board to try and out-do each other.

Mixed in with the fun and games it is also valuable to provide knowledge of our expertise which can help further our clients businesses. We had presentations by our director Malcolm on the future of web design, our SEO Consultant Jen on the future of SEO, James Hedley of JOH Marketing on the future of marketing, and our Content Creator Harpreet on the future of Social Media. If you are interested in what they had to say the link to the slides is here.

Interview

We ended the night with Oxygen Elements themed cupcakes with our new logo printed onto the icing and a goodie bag to go home with containing Oxygen Elements branded merch. We also got guests to give us a short 3 word interview to give their reaction to our rebrand. Check out our latest tiktok (www.tiktok.com/@oxygenelements) to see what they said.

Reason for the rebrand

We felt that being called Oxygen Graphics was putting us into a box in the minds of both existing and potential clients. People were saying ‘I never realised you did that’ quite often despite how often we would advertise all our different products and services on social media and via email. So we had to come up with a solution on how to mitigate this from happening. Our mindset was, ‘How can we evolve into more than just a graphic design studio and how can we present ourselves as a modern web and design studio to align with our updated brand direction?’ Which led to us deciding to rebrand.

How we got to Oxygen Elements

Oxygen Elements symbolises the natural evolution of our business beyond a traditional graphic design studio into a dynamic, creative partner for our clients. With a new skill set and growing expertise, Oxygen Elements reflects our ability to combine creativity, strategy, and technology in a way that ignites brands. Our philosophy of ‘creative chemistry’ has become central to our business, empowering us to take on projects of all shapes and sizes. By fusing creativity, precision with a science-based approach, we are able to consistently deliver impactful results for clients.

Drawing inspiration from the periodic table, we’ve retained ‘Oxygen’ to honour our heritage while fusing it with a blend of creativity and science. This combination is at the core of everything we do, symbolising the perfect balance between heritage and innovation. The vertical alignment of the ‘O’ and ‘E’ forms the number 8, symbolising the periodic symbol for ‘Oxygen’. It highlights the fusion of artistic and scientific elements, in line with our ‘creative chemistry’ theme.
